Technical FAQ
I’m having trouble accessing the materials?
There a number of ways to identify and solve the issue. Please troubleshoot the issue using this guide.
- Can you login to the Ten Ten Website? https://www.tentenresources.co.uk/
If yes then go to question 2.
If no then click on ‘Lost your password?’ and enter your school email address (or the email address you use to register for subscriptions). If you are a registered user you will receive a password reset email. You may need to check your junk mail. Follow the instructions and you’ll be able to reset your password and access the website.
If you do not receive a password reset email then you are not a registered user or the email you entered is not the email used to set your subscription up. You will need to ask your programme co-ordinator/RE Leader to provide your name and email address to us to register you on our system. We will then send you a welcome email together with a username and temporary password.
- Can you do all of the following? Access the website, view the slideshows, watch videos and download resources?
If yes then can you open the downloaded resources? If you are unable to open the downloaded resources then the device you are using does not have a LockLizard Licence installed. You will need to ask your Programme Coordinator to arrange for the device to have a licence installed. In the meantime, please use a device with a licence installed and this should solve your issue.
If no then you are currently not entitled to access the Life to the Full resources. You will need to ask your Programme Coordinator to request that they contact Ten Ten Resources and provide you with the rights to access the LTTF resources. We aim to do this within 24 hours – slightly longer at the weekend but we do endeavour to respond as quickly as possible following a request.
Please remember that every device that is used to open downloaded resources must have a LockLizard Licence installed. Guidance for users is given in a separate document regarding this and will have been sent to schools during the initial registration process. This guidance should cover the needs of the vast majority of general installations.
Advanced guidance suitable for instances where Admin Rights are required to install software are also available. This guidance is generally suitable for advanced users such as IT Technicians and IT leaders, as well as general users who have a good level of technical knowledge. As the Windows operating system is the predominant operating system used in schools guidance tends to primarily focus on this operating system. It is available on our website in the technical area or can be downloaded from:
https://www.locklizard.com/download_pdf_viewers/#windows-viewer
Other manuals for Mac, iOS and Android operating systems are available. Please see the bottom of this leaflet.
Do I have to be connected to the Internet in order to view secure PDF documents?
No you do not need to be connected to the internet but you will need to connect to the internet periodically for LockLizard to continue to allow you to open the downloaded resources.
What happens when I change or upgrade my device? Do I need a new licence?
If you change device or upgrade your device with a new hard disk then you will need to install a new licence. Your school may have spare licences to use or you may need to ask us for another licence so that you can install the viewer software and register again.
How do I open a PDC document directly from Internet Explorer or any other browser?
If you click on a link to a PDC file from Internet Explorer (or another browser), you are asked to Open or Save the file. To view the document, select the Open option. Internet Explorer will then call the Safeguard viewer to display the PDC file. To get Internet Explorer to automatically call the viewer to display the PDC file every time you click on a PDC file link, uncheck the option “always ask me before opening this type of file”. The process will be similar for other browsers.
What is the "Remove Keystore" option for?
On rare occasions, security information may be corrupted, and it is necessary to regenerate that information. To cause this to happen you use this feature to remove the existing faulty keystore, and then re-register your licence with your publisher.
The remove keystore utility is located in the Locklizard Safeguard Viewer program group off the Windows start menu – Start > All Programs > LockLizard > Safeguard > PDF Viewer > Remove Keystore.
Download IT handbook from LockLizard
There is a comprehensive manual that explains Locklizard in detail and is ideal for troubleshooting by your IT technician or IT leader. This should answer any questions related to the install of Locklizard in your school. It can be accessed by downloading the manual from this link: through the links below:
Known issues - Chromebook
Currently LockLizard does not allow printing from Chromebooks. LockLizard is aware of this and may in the future update the Android viewer to allow printing.
