Relationship Education for Catholic primary schools
"Teachers loved the programme because it is a comprehensive, totally engaging, multimedia quality resource, which incorporates the CES model RSE curriculum (praised by DFE as a model of good practice) and up to date statutory guidance. It is the only programme I know which has done this. The package also includes support for teachers, assessment material and resources to support parents. As one teacher put it, 'an answer to prayer'."
Theresa Laverick, RE Adviser, Middlesbrough Diocese
"The resources are excellently produced and covers the expectations of the new framework which will be in place from September 2020."
Sharon Docherty, Deputy Director of Religious Education, Archiocese of Southwark
"We were lucky enough to undertake the trial, everyone enjoyed using the programme, children were enthused and feedback from staff says that all year groups participated well. The quality of resources were excellent, the videos, PowerPoints were fab and the prayer and module songs were great - the children loved them too! The lessons plans were easy to follow and the scripts easy to work with."
Our Lady of the Angels, Cwmbran
"The Upper Key Two materials addressed lots of sensitive topics in an excellent way. Videos were engaging, and the children grew to become very involved with the four children in the drama, 'Paradise Street'. The “Lucky Dip” questions also helped guide meaningful and constructive discussion, and helped prevent things going off on a tangent. Led to children speaking very maturely about subjects such as puberty, pornography and sex. As the actors in 'Paradise Street' and 'Devlving Deeper' did not shy away or ridicule the topics, the children followed suit."
St Fidelis Catholic Primary School, Southwark
"As a whole school, children have enjoyed being exposed to new music and learning new hymns which we have then incorporated into our whole school masses."
"Year 2 pupils enjoyed the ‘Super Susie’ presentations/videos and found it rewarding when they were able to apply their newly-acquired knowledge to help her."
"Year 6 absolutely love Paradise Street and the content and delivery is excellent."
St Gregory's Catholic Primary School, Stratford upon Avon
"The videos did not just focus on the objective but followed up with real life experiences/feelings of the characters. The online safety lessons were very informative and made the children think about their own experiences. The children loved the videos and the room was always completely silent. They laughed, sang along with the music and felt the concerns of the characters. The videos brought together so many different life experiences i.e. wearing of bras, the difference in sanitary towels, and the ethos of a Catholic School. The videos just kept getting more informative and had very subtle approaches to subjects such as pornography. The training materials on the website were of a very high quality. In addition to this, our Lead Coordinator demonstrated clearly how to navigate through the programme, introduced use to the materials and explained in detail the vision and expectation. Support was readily available and staff had confidence in delivery of the sessions."
St Anselm's Catholic Primary School, Southall
"The lessons have been a good mix of active learning and then reflection. The resources have been really easy to use and the workbook activities enable the children to engage with the material without having to share their thoughts with everyone."
St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Sheffield
"As a school we would say that the resources and training materials are excellent. We welcome such a resource to use in school with our children and families."
