Need To Change
w/c 21 January 2019
Liturgical Year: 2nd Sunday in Ordinary Time
Gospel: John 2:1-11
This week’s Gospel passage shows Jesus’ first miracle, where He turned water into wine at the wedding of Cana. Jesus’ miracles show His power and the glory of God, but they also show how much Jesus cares about individual people, including us!
When Jesus saw a ‘need,’ He did something about it. When Jesus saw someone who was hungry, He fed them. If He saw that someone was ill or injured, He healed them. Even when a party had run out wine, Jesus performed a miracle and turned water into wine so that the party could carry on! The prayers this week help us remember that we need to change to be like Jesus. Can we spot the ‘needs’ around us and do something about them?
Each day asks children to consider the needs of a different community:
Monday – School
Tuesday – Home
Wednesday – Church
Thursday – Local Community
Friday – World
