Nothing Is Impossible For God
w/c 15 October 2018
Liturgical Year: 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Gospel: Mark 10: 17-30
In the Gospel story of the rich young man, Jesus tells us how difficult it is to enter heaven if we let ourselves become attached to our possessions. But he reassures us that nothing is impossible for God.
Our prayers this week focus on how everyday difficulties can be overcome if we allow Jesus to help us.
HOW TO LEAD:
Each day, an ordinary difficulty is described as well as the inspiration from Jesus’ life that may help us to face it.
For each day:
A child reads the first line of the text and everyone responds with lines two and three.
A child, or the teacher, reads the slide. Please paraphrase to make it suitable to the age and stage of your children.
Click to play music. With the music playing, everyone writes, draws or describes how Jesus has already helped them in their lives. For example, they might have a loving family and friends, a healthy body, their own particular gifts, or they may have experienced Jesus helping them to overcome fear, loneliness etc. If drawing/writing, this will become a collage over the course of the week as a new word or picture is added each day.
Finish with the Glory Be prayer, “Nothing is impossible for God”.
N.B. Each child will need paper and pencils if you choose to write/draw the response.
