Daily Classroom Prayers
w/c 9 September 2019
Each day this week individual verses from Sunday’s Responsorial Psalm (Psalm 90: 14, 17) and the Gospel Acclamation (John 15:15) will be presented for children to think about. The focus of each day’s prayer is a few moments of silence, giving children an opportunity to meditate on God’s word in their hearts and be nourished by it.
On Slide 1, there is the option to manually turn on quiet background music before navigating to the starting slide for each day.
How to Lead
NB. The prayer leader can be a child if you wish.
Turn on background music and/ or navigate to each day’s first slide. Take a moment to settle children in an attitude of prayer.
The Prayer Leader reads some background information on the day’s Scripture.
The Prayer Leader reads the Scripture and offers a short explanation.
Slide 4 – 5
The Prayer Leader asks children to reflect on the Scripture.
To aid their meditation, perhaps encourage children to repeat the Scripture in their hearts and/or listen quietly to what God might want to say to them.
A final communal prayer. At the end of the guided prayer, the children may wish to add their own prayers.
Responsorial Psalm 90: 14, 17
In the morning, fill us with your love;
we shall exult and rejoice all our days.
Let the favour of the Lord be upon us:
give success to the work of our hands.
Gospel Acclamation, John 15:15
I call you friends, says the Lord,
because I have made known to you
everything I have learnt from my Father.
