Across the UK there will be around 500,000 young people age just 16-24 that are homeless tonight, feeling unsafe, lost and alone. This educational presentation will open pupils’ minds to the questions “why people become homeless, how big is the problem and how charities such as the Cardinal Hume Centre can help people”.
The presentation can also include some insight on young asylum seeker and refugees. It may also inspire your students to get involved in fundraising and volunteering.
This session is aimed specifically at school students, with the content adjusted to their age group. The presentation can fit into a suitable slot, whether it is 15 minutes at an assembly or up to 1 hour as part of a lesson. The speaker will talk through a slide show (PowerPoint) with images, music and videos. There can be an opportunity for Q&A during or after, or workshops and reflection.
“The best school presentation I have heard in 16 years of teaching.”
